Life changes

17 Feb

It’s been three weeks, two days, twelve hours, and twenty-seven minutes now since I sent Pitch off to the publisher. Not that I’m counting, mind you.

I’ve been working diligently on some projects recently and it got me to thinking about how different my life has become. Never in a million years would I expect authors I respect and admire to write me and ask if I’d be willing to work with them on a project, beta-read a book for them, do some proofreading for them. Never did I expect that a lovely woman would write me and ask if I’d be interested in reviewing books.

I had something happen a little more than a year ago that closed a lot of doors for me, but one person opened another one (that would be the lovely and talented Eden Winters who has a couple new books due out soon. Check out Duet for the story of love that lasts a lifetime and beyond) and that door led to a hallway filled with dozens of others. Each one a story in and of itself.

So now I’m back to writing. Some of the stuff isn’t young adult so I won’t go into too much detail here (but eventually I will set up a different blog for that writing), but it’s so much fun to find ideas you didn’t know where there dancing across your mind.

So open those doors. You’ll be amazed at what you’ll find behind each one.

Nice post Will. I have found (in my experience) book people to be the most giving, supportive, non-competitive people I’ve ever met. It still amazes me which is a nice surprise every time.

You cannot imagine how happy I am for you, Will. Your writing is amazing, but then you’re an amazing person. You definitely bring light to my world. Hugs.
